Our Vision

Our vision is one in which the staff, community and students work together to encourage responsibility, integrity and an enthusiasm for learning. We truly believe that "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work" as we all work together to make decisions that are good for children. There are high expectations for academic achievement coupled with a school wide effort to support all children who are not meeting standards. Parent involvement is high and the culture at Foothill Oaks is positive and productive.

Visual and Performing Arts Program at Foothill Oaks

We are proud to announce that the VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) Program has now arrived at Foothill Elementary!

Students will experience both art and music provided by two traveling teachers. Tom Brockman will teach art to 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade once a week for two 8-week blocks. Stephanie Tomicich will teach music to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade once a week for the entire year. This program brings 2 fully trained and certified art teachers to our campus with a desire to enrich the great curriculum of the classroom teachers. Many teachers already integrate art into the daily lessons that the students receive. The VAPA teachers hope to provide even more focused attention to the process of making art and music. Students will gain powerful problem solving skills in the visual arts as they evaluate the choices they make in their own art. Students will also be able to read and write notes and understand the how rhythm and beat create the foundations of music.

These additions to the program promise an exciting year for students and incredible opportunities for learning at Foothill Oaks Elementary.
